A Place to Land, A Path to Grow

Through Frog Hollow's Food Security Program, a newcomer single mother and her preteen child were able to access nutritious food and other essential supports during their first months in Canada. With the immediate pressure of putting food on the table eased, she was able to dedicate her time and energy to searching for employment, attending interviews, and working toward her long-term goals.

After receiving support for eight months, she successfully secured her dream job and is now able to provide for her family with greater stability and confidence. Her story is a reminder that food security is about more than food—it creates the foundation people need to focus on opportunities, build resilience, and move toward a brighter future.

Reflecting on her experience, she shared:

"Frog Hollow's support was a game-changer for me as a single mother and new immigrant. Their program helped me access food, social support services, while I focused on job searching, allowing me to secure a successful career and provide for my family. I am grateful for their help, which really made a big difference in my life and enabled me to achieve greater success."
