Be a part of something bigger. Frog Hollow offers fulfilling opportunities that contribute to the well-being and growth of the East Vancouver community.

La Colmena Spanish Drop-In Program Support

For over a decade, Frog Hollow has hosted weekly sessions for Spanish-speaking families. Through free play, songs, rhymes, dance, and stories in Spanish, children have formed their first social relationships and experienced their family's culture. Parents and caregivers have shared resources, fostering a sense of belonging and settlement as newcomers to Canada through conversations, music, coffee, and laughter. Volunteers have been essential to sustaining this joyful group. We are looking for patient, caring, and family-oriented individuals to assist La Colmena Spanish Drop-in Program staff in providing engaging activities for families with children aged 0 to 5 years in a safe, friendly, and supportive environment while practicing your Spanish.

The practicum allowed me to step outside my comfort zone, challenging me while allowing me to put my passions for community service and relationship-building into action. This rewarding experience allowed me to develop my social work skills and connect with the community in meaningful ways.
