The Association of Neighbourhood Houses of BC (ANHBC) builds healthy and engaged neighbourhoods by connecting people and strengthening their capacity to create change.
ANHBC is the legal entity and umbrella organization made up of eight neighbourhood houses, an outdoor camp and central services. We operate more than 300 community-based programs and services for a diversity

ANHBC is currently seeking an experienced School Age Care Educator who shares ANHBC’s values to join our Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House team www.froghollow.bc.ca. Neighbourhood houses are highly collaborative with a strong team framework. The right person for this position is passionate about community development, social justice and is values-aligned with our organization.
About You
We are seeking a highly motivated, passionate, flexible, and compassionate individual to join our dynamic child care team as a School Age Care Educator in our School Age Program for children ages 5-12 located at Nootka Elementary School, 3375 Nootka Street, Vancouver.
About the Position
The School Age Care Educator is responsible for the provision of a school age care program that fosters a positive, and emergent learning environment with a focus on the social and emotional well being of all children.
We are an inclusive, multicultural, dynamic and collaborative child care setting which includes working with other educators to plan and implement a progressive and innovative program inspired by the Reggio Emilia
approach, BC Early Learning Framework in concert with the values of FHNH. Other responsibilities include developing strong and collaborative relationships and communication with children, families and colleagues.
We are a Learning Centre (www.reggiolearning.ca) with amazing opportunities for professional development and for collaborative efforts with other educators and with the community as a whole.
Skills & Qualifications:
• Completion of a 20 hour course (or willingness to attend training), or a combination of courses in child development, guidance, health and safety, or nutrition
• Ability to provide programming based on the principles of the Reggio Emilia approach and BC’s ELF
• Strength in building and maintaining supportive and collaborative partnerships with children of all abilities families, and colleagues
• Creativity, initiative, flexibility, compassion, sense of joy, and enthusiasm
• Passion for ongoing professional development and growth
• Experience working with children who require extra support is an asset
• First Aid Certificate

Member Houses: Alex NH, Cedar Cottage NH, Frog Hollow NH, Gordon NH, Kitsilano NH, Marpole NH, Mount Pleasant NH, South Vancouver NH and Sasamat Outdoor Center
Hours: This is a regular part time position at 18.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday 2:30 to 6:00 plus weekly meeting. During winter, spring and summer breaks and school professional development days, shift times will
vary. In addition, there will be occasional evening meetings and/or trainings.
Salary & Benefits: Competitive benefits package including group medical and Municipal Pension Plan, 3 weeks vacation, sick time, and exceptional professional development opportunities.
Hourly Salary: $23.57. This position qualifies for the additional $6.00 WE for any candidate with ECE.
Start Date: June 1, 2026
