This 8-week cooking & baking training program helps youth learn more about food production, gain insight into the food industry, and acquire skills to obtain sustainable employment. Up to $400 is available for program attendance.

YES CHEF! includes 4 weeks of basic food skills training and 4 weeks of food production and catering training. Youth get experience in the kitchen at the Gathering Place Community Centre as well as catering training at Frog Hollow.

Throughout the program, youth will be helped with employment preparation, settlement needs, financial literacy, workplace rights, and basic FoodSafe skills, with workshops provided both 1:1 and in groups.

YES CHEF will be starting our new cohort in July 6^th 2026, in partnership with Mind Your Food. This program is for youths between 13-30 years old. Priority is given to newcomer Youths (permanent resident/ conventional refugees). Program is ran every Monday from 1:30-3:30pm.
