Sunrise Welcome Place
Settlement & Integration Services Centre
Our location offers a comprehensive range of settlement and integration services, including one-on-one support in over 15 languages. Programs such as Connecting with Indigenous Peoples & Culture, Working Opportunities for Women (WOW), Pathways to Leadership, the Multicultural Conversation Circle, English Corner, Yes Chef Youth Employment, Youth Leadership Drop In, Community Connections, Information and Orientation, and Employment Workshops are designed to empower newcomers, helping them adapt and thrive in their new environment.
We strive to create a warm and inviting atmosphere, where newcomers can easily connect with essential services, local volunteers, and other neighbours at various stages of their settlement journey. We believe in the power of community and strive to foster a sense of belonging for all those who walk through our doors.
Settlement & Integration Services Centre
Sunrise Welcome Place is located at 2728 E. Hastings Street at Slocan in the Northern area of East Vancouver, on the traditional, unceded, and occupied territories of the Skwxwu7mesh (Squamish), Səl̓ilwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh), and xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations.
Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House expanded its Settlement and Integration Services with the opening of this Center in the Hastings Sunrise Neighbourhood in 2023. This location is funded in part by Immigration Refugees Citizenship Canada (IRCC), extending our reach to more newcomers and increasing our capacity to offer a greater variety of programs, including robust Employment Services.
We are open 4 to 6 days of the week throughout the year by appointment or pre-registration.
Book your visit by calling 604-251-1225, emailing Settlement@FrogHollow.bc.ca or registering for one of our settlement programs and services

Funded by the United Way of BC, we received a $100,000 infrastructure grant to upgrade a 750 sqft staff kitchen space into a community program kitchen equipped with all the necessary appliances, including dry and cold storage. This new infrastructure will support Yes Chef youth employment program, and newcomer food skills workshop. This significant upgrade will not only enhance the quality of our culinary training but will also allow Yes Chef to expand its capacity, enabling us to accommodate a larger number of participants than before. In addition, this kitchen supports initiatives linked to our Food Rescue and local Food Security programs, further allowing Frog Hollow to provide wrap-around support to newcomers we serve, and strengthening our commitment to addressing food-related challenges in our community. The SÍMA7WI ÍLHEN: Sunrise Community Kitchen is not just a space; it represents hope, opportunity, and a commitment to enhancing a sense of belonging and connection.
