The BC Newcomer Services Program supports the social and economic integration of newcomers to the province. These services are for newcomers who are not eligible for federal settlement services:

To join this program, you must be a Temporary Resident, for example:

  • Study Permit Holder
  • Work Permit Holder
  • Naturalized Citizen
  • Refugee Claimant
  • Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET) Visa Holder.

BCNSP program includes the following services:

Settlement Support

  • One-on-one settlement support and referrals
  • Information and orientations
  • English Conversation Circles
  • Non-immigration form-filling
  • Community connections
  • Volunteering opportunities

Employment Services

  • Employment workshops
  • One-on-one employment support
  • Help with resumes, cover letter, job interview preparation
  • Volunteering opportunities

Language Enhanced Employment Program (LEEP) is a 4-week program which includes enhancement of English language and support with employment. Topics include job search, resume writing, interview skills preparation, workplace communication and culture and employment law. LEEP allows participants to learn employment language skills relevant to specific job fields like Childcare, Customer Service, Administration/Corporation etc.

Restorative circles help people resolve conflicts through talking circles rather than through police or courts. Restorative circles help building connections and provide healing to the community by focusing on emotional, mental, and physical wellness.
