Frog Hollow is pleased to announce that we have received funding under the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program as well as the support of City of Vancouver’s Hastings Legacy Fund for our “Deep Roots, Strong Branches” project.
The Deep Roots, Strong Branches project will provide low-barrier opportunities for seniors to connect with their culture and traditions and increase intergenerational interactions. Our focus will be on engaging the Indigenous and LGBTQIA2S+ communities but will also promote knowledge sharing and participation from seniors of diverse backgrounds.
We will also focus on building our partnership with our local Men’s Shed as they have similar interests and values as what we propose in this project. Furthermore, with the focus of engaging the Indigenous community, LGBTQIA2S+ community and Men’s Shed, we hope to increase social connection and understanding between diverse groups of seniors.
We will start our project with a Seniors KitchenConnection cooking workshop! For more information about Deep Roots, Strong Branches, please contact Glo at gloria@froghollow.bc.ca
