Holiday Hamper Fundraiser 2025: Nourishing Minds, Empowering Lives

For over two decades, Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House has been committed to addressing food insecurity in our community. While food remains a vital need, we recognize that true food security goes beyond meals — it includes education, empowerment, and long-term resilience.

Food insecurity is a growing national health issue in Canada, and our community continues to feel its impact. The COVID-19 pandemic, rising inflation, and the housing crisis have placed immense pressure on families striving to meet basic needs.

• Household food insecurity has surged by 39% since the pandemic began.
• Increased rent and food costs disproportionately affect low-income families, often forcing cutbacks on essentials — especially healthy food.
• In 2022, 1 in 4 children in ten Canadian provinces lived in food-insecure households. In BC, that number rose to 21.8%, up from 16.9% in 2021.

We also acknowledge that food insecurity intersects with race, disability, and social stigma. At Frog Hollow, we support families from diverse backgrounds with compassion and dignity.

This year, our Holiday Hamper Fundraiser is expanding its mission. In addition to providing food support, we are raising $10,000 CAD to also fund programs that empower individuals and families through learning.

Last year, thanks to your generosity, we supported 116 families with holiday hampers. This year, your donation will go even further.
