Hours: Monday to Friday 7:30–9:00am & 3:00-5:45pm
Fees:
- $550/month for before and after school care Monday to Friday before fee reduction.
- With fee reduction, Kindergarten: $230/month ; Grades 1-5 $435/month

Embracing the Reggio Emilia approach, Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House provides exciting innovative children’s programs in a rich caring atmosphere.
At the beginning and end of each school day children from the school come together and are given the opportunity to play, interact with friends, have fun, and receive encouragement based on the Reggio Emilia approach. Our educators are deeply committed and dedicated to providing a high quality school aged program. They believe in equal learning opportunities and see themselves as the children’s research partners.
Project ideas and invitations based on observations and discussions are offered to children while further observation and documentations continue. This interactive and reflective process provides children with open-ended projects that will allow them to experience learning that is unique and individualized.
Children at our program are offered:
- a nutritious snack in the afternoon
- variety of natural and open-ended materials to explore
- equal opportunities to speak their thoughts & test their ideas
- project-based learning opportunities based on their own interests and theories
- community opportunities for encouraging exploration and compassion
- local field-trips
- outdoor play and exploration opportunities in our playgrounds, local parks and in the neighbourhood
The School Age program at QVA will be an inclusive, bias-free environment in which children’s thoughts are respected equally and incorporated highly in the foundations of the program.

Find answers to frequently asked questions about our childcare program.
Yes. Child care will be provided on Professional Development (Pro-D) Days at Queen Victoria Annex. There is no additional charge for Pro-D Day care.
- Child care will be available during Winter Break and Spring Break.
- Current plans are for care to be provided at Queen Victoria Annex; however, if enrollment is low or school is unavailable, programs may be combined at another Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House child care location.
- Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House child care programs are closed for one week during Winter Break each year. The closure week typically aligns with the week containing the majority of statutory holidays.
- Families may register only for the Winter Break and Spring Break days they require.
- The additional fee for break care is $20 per day.
Summer care will be available through Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House at either the Lord Nelson Elementary School site or the Kids World program located at Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House.
