Rich Environments

Inspired by Loris Malaguzzi’s vision for the environment as a “third teacher”, our educators at Frog Hollow Children Centres believe that the environment plays a critical role in a child’s learning. Safe and yet stimulating and challenging learning environments, filled with natural materials are prepared thoughtfully to create a space for children to unleash their ambitions and unlock their potential.

Our educators consider the many ways the “classroom” interacts with the child’s learning when planning their rooms. They plan for environments that encourage self-expression, imagination and collaboration by creating organized and provocative spaces.

Unique, “telling” objects are carefully selected and purposefully placed to kindle curiosity. Children’s creations are displayed gracefully to honor the process of learning. Large, rich art areas are designated to inspire creativity and expression. And the harmony of the room encourages free-flow & organic learning throughout the day.
