For Children and Their FamiliesWe provide a supportive and relaxing atmosphere where children and parents/caregivers can meet and socialize. Our programs are designed to provide positive child development, promote school readiness skills, and introduce families to the resources and supports in their community. We believe that children learn best through play. Children and their caregivers are encouraged to engage in new activities, such as learning songs and rhymes, and listening to stories.
Family Drop-in Program
Frog Hollow Family Drop-in Program & Kids in the Kitchen operates on-site at Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday morning from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. The program is for families/caregivers with children 0-6 years.
Participants enjoy early literacy activities such as stories and songs and playtime, arts, and crafts. A nutritious lunch is included. The maximum limit for this drop-in program is 25 children for safety reasons. Once the limit is reached, the program doors close, although new families are always welcomed.
Program adaptation in response to Covid-19:
Since March 2020, this program has been adapted to Virtual Family Circle Time, sharing stories, providing arts and craft ideas, and singing songs with families via Zoom. Kids in the Kitchen is currently closed; however, easy-to-follow and healthy recipes are shared through these online sessions so that parents can cook nutritious meals together with their little ones at home.
Following the Provincial Health Officer (PHO) order and direction, in-person sessions might be available if circumstances allow. An occupancy limit for registration will be applied for in-person sessions. Covid-19 Safety Measures will be in effect on-site.
The program schedule is updated every week.
