Schedule: Shifts vary between 7:30am and 6:00pm  

Wage: $21.74–$23.10/hour (depending on qualifications) + 4% vacation pay; ECE’s and IT’s qualify for an additional $6.00 wage enhancement

Role Summary

The On Call, Casual ECEA/ECE/IT is responsible for the provision of an early childhood education and/or school age program that fosters a positive, emergent learning environment, with a focus on the social and emotional well-being of all children. The setting is inclusive, multicultural, dynamic, and collaborative, including working with other educators to plan and implement progressive and innovative programming inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach and the BC Early Learning Framework, aligned with FHNH values. Responsibilities also include developing strong and collaborative relationships and communication with children, families, and colleagues.  

Qualifications & Skills

• ECEA/ECE/IT Certificate  
• Ability to provide programming based on the principles of the Reggio Emilia approach and BC’s Early Learning Framework (ELF)  
• Strength in building and maintaining supportive and collaborative partnerships with children of all abilities, families, and colleagues  
• Creativity, initiative, flexibility, compassion, sense of joy, and enthusiasm
