Drive Youth Employment Centre           |           Youth at Work Skills Link Program

Drive Youth Employment Centre is an offsite program of Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House for Youth Employment Services. We are set up to help youth who are having a difficult time finding work or sustainable employment. We operate from a client-centered approach, offering support, access to resources and one-on-one employment assistance.

Specific services provided:

Resource Centre
Our drop-in Resource Centre is a friendly, youth-oriented, supportive place to search for a job. You can use a computer with internet access, a fax machine, photocopier, and a telephone. You can also scan our job postings, learn about our workshops and one-on-one services and pick up information about other services in the community.
 
One-on-one Services
Our Case Managers can help you one-on-one to identify your challenges and to develop and commit to a play for find employment. Case Managers also help with résumés, cover letters, job search techniques, interview preparation and provide information about employment training programs.
 
Keeping a Job
Case Managers can also help you keep your job once you find one. For the first 3-12 weeks on the job, your Case Manager can answer any questions you might have about such things as employer/employee rights, taxes, and paperwork and coach you through any situations you might want help with.
 
Workshops
We offer a variety of workshops to help you find a job, including:
  • Creating and updating a résumé
  • Interview skills and self marketing
  • Job search
  • Using internet and email

Youth at Work is a program of Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House designed to offer youth employability and life skills, as well as hands-on work experience. This 12-Week program assists youth between the ages of 15 and 30 years (inclusive) who are interested in gaining work experience and pursuing personal career goals and objectives.
