National Indigenous Peoples Day:

June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day. A day announced since 1996  for all Canadians to recognize and honor the heritage and contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples across Canada. #NIPDCanda

Reflect upon the recent anti-racism movement, the same sentiments are echoed in recognizing the fact that the legacy of colonial injustice for Indigenous peoples in Canada persists today.

“Trauma is not your fault, but healing is your responsibility.”

It’s our responsibility to do our part in dismantling the system of discrimination and racism. Solidarity and actions are what we call.

This is not the end, but the beginning of a new journey.
