Scholarship & Bursary Grade 12 Students
College and university tuition is expensive, so a creative youth volunteer at Frog Hollow Neighbourhood house developed a scholarship and bursary program. From October through March each year, grade 12 students at Van Tech Secondary School can drop in up to three times a week to receive information and training for financial assistance relating to post secondary education.
The program offers informative and engaging workshops on topics like:
- Time management
- Career and personal planning
- Stress management
- Portfolio creation
- Academic and employment resume writing
- Scholarship, bursary and loan application processes
- One to one support during the application process
Past participants of the program return as guest speakers. These are individuals who successfully applied for, and received, numerous scholarship dollars. They also handled the transition from high school to college or university, and lived to tell about it!
