At Frog Hollow Children Centres, we believe that children are capable of creating their own learning when provided with the right environment, opportunities and guidance. Our educators are committed to practicing democracy in their programs and to creating opportunities for the children to question and negotiate the existing rules, and to offer realistic alternatives.
Our educators avoid creating hierarchies that encourage top down – teacher to student – relations. Instead, they adopt a co-learning relationship with the children, formulating hypotheses and exploring theories with them. Instead of “spoon-feeding” the children knowledge, our educators guide them to create the opportunity to build their own knowledge. Our educators are in a continual process of helping the children learn how to learn.
