Get Involved in Planning Hastings Park
The City of Vancouver is currently undertaking a master plan and public consultation process to guide the long range redevelopment of Hastings Park. One of the many goals of the plan is to re-balance the concept of Hastings Park to be a fair within a park, with significant greening and public amenities. Playland, the 17 day annual PNE Fair and Hastings Racecourse are also key components of the planning process that has been underway since early 2009.

You have an opportunity to contribute to the process by sharing your ideas and giving feedback on a variety of planning options being developed for the park. There are a variety of ways to get involved, starting with the first phase of consultation.

Over the summer and fall of this year, the City will host several community and city-wide consultation events kicking-off with an event in the Hastings-Sunrise community in mid-August.  The project team will then move on to the PNE Fair during the last 2 weeks of August and wrap up with several community and city-wide events in September. The purpose of this consultation will be to gather feedback on the various planning concepts being considered.

Feedback from these consultation events will help guide the development of a preferred concept plan. Additional consultation will be held as the plan is refined.  The detailed Hastings Park Master Plan is expected to be complete in 2010.
