The exhibition travels around the world and in 2009 was brought to Vancouver by frog Hollow Neighbourhood House. This year, the exhibit is being hosted in Seattle – for more information see the Washington Collective’s website.

The beautiful and powerful philosophy behind the Reggio Emilia approach sits well with most of us educators. However at times, we may find it difficult to apply the principles to our practice. In this joint workshop, we will explore how the Reggio Emilia principles can support educators in cultivating inclusive and supportive cultures in their programs. On this evening, we will consider questions such as:

  • why does the Reggio approach refers to “special rights” rather than “special needs”
  • how do we create programs that meet each child’s individuality?
  • what is the nature of the relationships we are trying to cultivate in our programs?
