CAPC

The Community Action Program for Children (CAPC) is a program to support families with children from birth to six years old. Through CAPC, the federal government provides ongoing funding to a range of community-based projects to promote the health and well being of young children and infants through a range of educational and fun activities. CAPC funded programs at Frog Hollow include the Daily Family Drop-in, Junior Frog Hoppers and a range of parent-led groups and parent training. Through CAPC, Frog Hollow has established the Families Branching Out Coalition bringing together some Frog Hollow family activities with those of other local organizations; Kiwassa and Collingwood Neighbourhood Houses, and Thunderbird Community Centre. Through this partnership we provide opportunities for parents and staff to get together and decide on joint activities open to families participating in CAPC programs in any of our organizations. Some of these events this year have included: a series of election events and celebration dinner, a parent conference and a planned trip to Fort Langley over the summer.
