Notice of Closure
In reviewing the current activities to support communication and the sharing of information among CAPC, CPNP and AHS communities across BC, Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House and PHAC have found that the Online Community project (using the WebBoard software) was not adequately meeting the needs of program staff. Although the technology allowed for interaction and sharing of information, it was not particularly accessible and user-friendly in light of the many demands that program staff face today.
Consequently, we will no longer be providing the service of the Online Community (WebBoard) to the CAPC, CPNP and AHS programs across BC as of October 1, 2009. Our review has also showed us that the other communications services we have been providing are useful and valued. We are pleased to continue, therefore, to offer the following tools and supports to projects across BC:
- Quarterly production and distribution of the Keeping in Touch newsletter
- Bi-weekly Electronic Updates on issues, research, and news relevant to the BC ECD community
- Quarterly compilation and distribution of the BC Children’s Programs Directory
- Provincial Conference coordination (the next one being in April 2010)
We are currently in the process of identifying new communications and knowledge transfer tools that would be of use to the CAPC, CPNP and AHS communities. Your feedback is extremely valuable to us and we would like to hear from you should you have any ideas for tools or resources you would like to access. Please feel free to contact Jennie Hoffman at jennie@froghollow.bc.ca at any time.
We look forward to continuing to support your programs in the areas of communications, knowledge development and knowledge exchange.
Gary Dobbin Jennie Hoffman
